Report from the crusade i Kasama, Zambia – August 2014
Wednesday
Earlier today I left Lusaka, the capital
of Zambia, and have now arrived in Kasama, located in northern Zambia. Getting
here was quite an experience! First we took a small plane up to Ndola. Then we
took an even smaller plane to Kasama. We spent two hours in a plane with 12
seats. The smaller the plane, the shakier the ride!
This evening we had a pastors’
dinner and there was a major breakthrough. After I had prayed for several
pastors and their wives, the waiters and waitresses lined up for prayer!
Kasama is hungry, so I think we can
expect a record crowd.
Thursday
During our first crusade meeting,
Kasama was turned upside down! Halfway through the evening the deliverance tent
was already overcrowded. The power of God pulsed in wave after wave throughout
the meeting. Thousands of people prayed the prayer of salvation, and hundreds
of people raised their hands to confirm that they had been healed, and it was
as if Jesus was holding the entire city in his arms. ”And from the days of John the
Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent
take it by force,” Matt. 11:12.
Friday
This crusade in Kasama has been
amazing. It feels as though the whole city is on its feet. In one of the photos
below you can see a 35 year-old woman crying during prayer. She had been
completely deaf since she was 3 years old, and right then and there Jesus
healed her. In the second photo she is testifying about the miracle!
The little
girl Nancy, 9 years old, was born deaf. During prayer her father noticed how
she suddenly responded to what I was saying from the stage, and when he said her
name, she looked up at him! It was the first time since birth that she
had heard her father’s voice. People are getting saved and the deliverance tent
was overcrowded again. Many people manifested when I bound the demons of
sickness, so we are sure to get testimonies now of what Jesus has done in these
people’s lives. The kingdom of God is breaking forth in Kasama.
Saturday
The power of God continues to break
forth. On Saturday it was jam-packed, and because of a power outage we
had to start with the help of generators. Tonight was the first real salvation
meeting, as you can see in the photo below. So many people wanted to receive
Jesus. But the memory that will stick with me was what happened to the little
girl I am holding. I was just about to wrap up the meeting when she managed to
get past the guards and climb up on stage. She tugged on my jacket, but didn’t
say anything, just pointed at her ears. She was deaf in both. I prayed
quickly and almost routinely asked her: ”Can you hear now?” Imagine how happy
I was when she nodded! In the photo she is telling the huge crowd what
happened.
Sunday
The final evening was a night of
celebration. The stage was surrounded by people demanding prayer! The boy on
stage waved at me and pointed to his mouth. He was mute. I lifted him up. In the first photo we are praying a short prayer for his healing. In Photo 2 and 3 he is counting to twelve. He is forcing out the sounds from his mouth and we could sense how he was
learning to speak while he was counting.
We have received great feedback from
the pastors and bishops about the crusade meetings and about the teaching at the
seminars.
I will be home for two weeks, and
then I will be heading towards the middle of nowhere in Malawi. Once again,
thank you. A bit later we will be posting videos.
