Pastor Tommy's final report from Burma

People traveled from all over Burma to attend the historic revival and leaders’ conference. Burma is a special place: if too many people gather, the authorities react; if too many people get saved, the Buddhist monks react. When 4 out of the 5 cripples stood up and were healed on Saturday evening, there was no way to keep things in check. At the final meeting on Sunday, twice as many people came than expected, and Hindus, Muslims and Buddhists gave their lives to Jesus.

The entire conference was coordinated by newly-started churches in cooperation with Pastor Tommy Lilja Ministries’ partner organization, Dynamic Mission, led by Johan Andersén. Pastor David’s new church was in charge, and hosted the conference. This church was planted 2 years ago and already has 200 members! Despite heavy persecution and serious threats to their lives, the church is growing.
The leadership conference, which had planned for 100 pastors, gathered nearly 300 delegates. Pastors traveled from all over Burma to attend the seminars.

Saturday evening was the breakthrough meeting. A woman who had been an invalid due to a traffic accident got healed. Another woman - who hadn’t walked for many years - stood up after being encouraged to by Pastor Tommy, before he even started preaching. There were many testimonies, and on Sunday evening the meeting place was packed and there were even people standing outside.

The location was a city in a rainforest up in the mountains. Now there will be follow-up, as well as work to plant more churches.

This was a conference that broke every boundary. Nobody thought that so many pastors would travel so far to attend the conference. The food ran out, the staff worked day and night, more people than we had dared to hope got saved, and now the testimony of what Jesus did is spreading like a wave across Burma – good news travels fast!

Thank you to everyone who prayed, who supported us, and especially to everyone who risks their lives for Jesus in Burma, a country that is starting to both open up and to wake up!

Burma - day 3

The final meeting of our underground crusade was packed. People were even standing outside! One pastor, whose life had been seriously threatened this summer by Buddhists, was crying out of gratitude to Jesus. Hindus, Buddhists, and Muslims rushed forward to the altar call for salvation.

It’s a balancing act. If too many people gather, the authorities react; if too many people get saved, the Buddhists react.

The newly-planted church has done an amazing job. Next for them is follow-up and baptisms.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us through prayer and encouragement.

Burma - day 2

Unbelievable but true. 5 paralyzed, disabled and sick people were carried to the front of the stage today. Placed on the cold floor, on a carpet with a blanket to keep warm, they put their hope in Jesus. In the first photo, one person has already been healed. The woman with the red hat is about to get healed. From the stage, I'm commanding her to stand up. The man to the left walked before we were finished, as did the woman under the blanket to the right in the picture.
In the second photo, you can see the woman with the red hat. She told us that she hadn't been able to walk for several years. The other woman you see is the one who had been lying under the blanket without moving. She said that her back had been broken in an accident! Amazing. Our underground crusade exploded tonight.
Watch and Believe - Jesus is alive. Today His presence was so massive and so intense. I can hardly tell you what happened when people were delivered tonight - it was surreal. Please stand together with us in prayer as we have still one night to go - Sunday night.

Burma - day 1

Burma 2013. Sitting somewhere in a city in the middle of the rainforest. First meeting yesterday. Good crowd, all unreached or saved within the last two years. The atmosphere in a committed, persecuted congregation must be experienced. Please pray, the Word is working and tonight we are looking forward to a real breakthrough.

Getting ready for Burma

Intensive preparations are going on in Burma to prepare for the Gospel next week. What we are now are doing is of great importance and it's a historical move in the city we are working in.
I will try to give mission reports from Friday next week.
